Eye Candy ♥

Good Morning Sugar Addicts.

I am happy to report that since my post last week, the weather has improved some and the snow has all but gone...that makes me a very happy bunny!

There is almost a week left to get inky and enter the Sugar Bowl challenge.
One lucky crafter, chosen at random, will win their choice of any 4 Sugar Nellie images, rising to any 6 if we reach 100+ entries but...you've got to be in to win it and you must use a Sugar Nellie image (rubber or digital) to be eligible to win the prize.

And so we embarked on the very difficult task of choosing one card to award the Eye Candy badge to...

This gorgeous card has been made by An and uses the Leanne Ellis image
All Is Not Lost.  I love the soft, delicate shades and all the beautiful embellishments.

Please take our badge An and display it on your blog with pride ♥

I''ll be back again next Thursday when there will be a new challenge posted on the Sugar Bowl,
it will be our 100th challenge!!

Thanks for looking
Love Elaine xx

Delightful Delia!

Hello Everyone! Jane here today and I have a card to share that I have made with the adorable little Delia. Delia is one of my favourite Sugar Nellie stamps and I love colouring her in. I used various papers from My Mind's Eye on my card and coloured Delia in to match them using my Promarkers.

I sewed around the edges of all my layers and added a gorgeous pink ribbon which I topped with a spotty button. I added a stamped sentiment straight on to one of the patterned papers and embellished the card with lots of flowers, a wooden button and some punched butterflies topped with gems.

Here is a close up of my coloured image. I cut the image out leaving a small border and added stickles to her wand and to her headband as a finishing touch. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

Good morning everyone, how has your week been?. I do hope that you have all kept safe and warm and with weather as wild as it has been, the best , safest and warmest place to be is in your craft space!

I have an afternoon teaching again yesterday. Planning all sorts of classes and diversifying into crafts other than paper. Burlap and lace is a complete range of new crafts which not only will we be teaching this year but finished items will also be for sale in our gift department in both stores. Right on trend!

Cake is also very much on my mind, we will take the next step forward and start cup cake decoration classes this spring. There are some great new product becoming available to make things easier than they look and we have those ordered for our store and maybe even online too.

But Sugar Nellie started with rubber and we hope to bring some new sweet rubber to you in late February with a range called BAGS of FASHION, guess whats that's about!

FLASH...... yes it's time for a quick discount which will only last until this WEDNESDAY.

I thought that you would like a treat and as we have some many ranges, today I am giving you 25% off LEANNE ELLIS stamps. I did make up a code but its easier to just reduce every thing on line.

So jump over and see our amazing designs drawn for us my UK artist Leanne Ellis. It might be you love Annie, nice and simple for easy colouring. OR maybe you love arty art work. Both are available from this range and I know it has a great following.

Discount lasts until Wednesday. Some lines are limited stock and will sell out. Be quick , take your pick and I'll have those lovelies posted to you asap.

See what's in stock HERE

Take care

Karen

Eye Candy ♥

Good Morning Sugar Addicts.

It's been a week since my last post and the weather is just as dire. There's a bitterly cold wind blowing out there and I'm going to work dressed like an Eskimo...I've got more skins on me than an onion!
There's still about 4 inches of snow on the ground...it feels like a lot of snow to me but I know the Canadians will be laughing and saying "You call that snow? In Canada that's just a frost".

It's definitely good weather for staying indoors and crafting :)
Now if only I could win that Euro Millions then I would be staying at home and playing...a girl can dream :)

There are lots of fabulous entries into the Sugar Bowl challenge...though there are still a fair few that don't follow the one simple rule...you MUST use a Sugar Nellie image, either a rubber stamp or digital image, to be eligible to win the prize.

Choosing just one entry to be 'Eye Candy' is hard! There are so many beautiful cards by our lovely group of addicts but the Mama said one and so one it will be.

This weeks Eye Candy badge goes to...

...Kari with her gorgeous baby boy card using the digital image Bambino.
This sweet baby is so realistic and of course is equally beautiful with a pink hat for a girl!
Please take our badge Kari and display it on your blog with pride ♥

Bambino being a digi image is also a fantastic buy for the less-than-patient crafter..instant Sugar-fix and no stalking the postie. I have to admit that I am a rubber lover first and foremost, for me there's nothing that beats opening a packet of new rubber...and I do believe that there will be a new release of rubber next month! I just need to sneak a peak at them somehow when Karen's not looking :)

I colored her with Copics - here's a close up:

Hope you liked my card and it inspires you to dream of summer as well.

SOS - What my fortune said

Hello and good morning to all you special sugar addict out there that take the time to read my ramblings.

I had an un expected change of plans yesterday and ended up, right out of my comfort zone, going to the house of a friend where the only woman I know was that friend that took me along. Why did I go into a new environment where there were a mix of younger women all who I had very little in common with? The answer was they were all gathered to get their tarot cards read.

Something that I have never done, I am very open minded about things in the spirit world and readings. I had no expectations and really no idea what she was going to tell me. I was apparent from the start that she was taking too long with each private reading and it was going to be real late before she got around to everyone, if we waited that long. So by 11.30 it was well past my bed time and sitting on a hard wooden chair no doubt has something to do with the back pain that was slowly getting worse as I watched the clock.

MY turn! So in I went, she was plain and straight forward. No I had not been before, No there was nothing in particular that I wanted to know. I had to shuffle a large pack of cards and she then placed the down in front of her.
I was a push over and I needed to be harder
I had had my wings clipped
I had itchy feet for a new challenge
I was the rock that held everything together
There was a blockage that I was ignoring and until I got rid of it, I would struggle to move forward.

And then she stopped!

It was all to much she said, she could not "read" me. She was exhausted and in her 20 years this was the third time she had to stop a reading. Now should I be in panic mode? Was there something dark there that she could not tell me about? Is my life so bad shit crazy that it was all information overload for her after a long night? She could not unders stand the family card kept coming up and she had no idea why? So the night ended there, she had one more girls after me that she refused to do.

I felt like a little kid who went to a party and there was not enough party bags and I was left out! Bummer!

So what do you think girls? Is my world going to end? Is the blockage that pile of paperwork in the office that just does not go away? Or is the issues I have with my parents and my unloved upbringing? Yes I am the bolder that holds my dis functional family together and without me there would not be a sugar nellie family either.

I am sure she had a lot more to tell me, generally it was not specific but like all the other ladies it was specific to them in a way that they could convert it into their life's.

There also was a card of a naked back of a man with a big triangle on it. A HA! my sore back I thought but she did not get to that bit. But by the time I got home my back was so bad that I slept in the spare bed. This morning I am still there when hubby comes in bent double having put out his back! Mumbling and cursing me for being involved in witch craft. Truth be known if I had witchy powers it would not be a sore back he would be having! So I am laid up today, doped up with pain killers in the hope that it passes and I can get to work tomorrow.

I am going back to finish my reading as soon as I can because I am not intrigued. I am off to google those cards and see if I can find out what they mean because I am flat on my back and the computer is the only thing I am going to be working today.

Have a great Sunday and do take the time to tell me about your fortune and if it was cards or something else, I am really interested in know what you all think, truth or entertainment?

Saturday Shenanigans!

Good Morning All….

image

Isn’t ‘shenanigans’ a great word???

Yes, I’ll be here every Saturday from now on for some ‘silly or high spirited behaviour’……
(Yes, I prefer the second definition of the word, the first, does not sound very nice at all)

So, my first order of business today is to announce the winner of Karens Vintage Adorables Competition.

Many thanks to those who entered, we so enjoyed seeing your creations!

Very many congratulations go to Debbi, otherwise known as

wiccababe

For this little piece of deliciousness...showing just how very versatile stamped images are, as we always say, you are only limited by your imagination.
(maybe I should try purple hair? It's about the only colour my hair hasn't been)

Please email me with your full name and postal address and your gorgeous doily die and stamp should reach you very soon.

Have you all managed to pick up your Vintage Adorables from Funkykits?

Great for an instant digital sugar fix to perk us all up, as winter marches on…

I need a little pick me up as I  am in the midst of a major decluttering!

Yes, it was my New Years Resolution this year……(as it is most years)

My crafty stash will soon need a house of it’s own and so, it’s time to clear out and make room for the new
(although, of course I won’t be buying any, as I’m being good *wink*)

Talking of making room for the new…..

We’ll have ‘bags’ of deliciousness to show you all very soon.

Yes, we have a new stamp release coming in February and these are just too sweet for words!
(Oh, how I love a good tease)

Enjoy your weekend everyone if you are at the mercy of the snow stay safe, stay indoors and colour! Remember there are two great challenges running on The Sugar Bowl & The Facebook Page!

Oh, and tell me your New Years Resolution…if you made one…

Luv’n’Hugs

Adorable Amber

Good morning :o)

I've used one of the gorgeous new Vintage Adorables for today's card...

I love them all so it's hard to decide which to colour in, but I finally settled on the lovely Amber.

I've got a nasty cold and am not feeling all that creative at the moment, but I still had fun colouring this pretty little girl :o)  There's no sentiment as it's for my hubby's Grandma, and I couldn't remember whether it was her birthday or names day (a Polish thing), so I'll add one later.

Hope you all have a lovely day!

EYE CANDY ♥

Good Morning Sugar Addicts.

I hope the weather is fair with you. Here in the UK we have fallen foul to snow grrrrrr...
There's not been too much where I live, Scotland always seems to take the lions share of the white stuff :)
But the weather forecasters are predicting more snow will fall on Friday, typical! I can pretty much guarantee that every 5th Friday the weather will be bad, usually lashing rain, just in time for my visit to the hairdressers.

Unless you are a new visitor here then you will already know that we have a challenge blog, The Sugar Bowl which is run by Mama Gayle. A new challenge is set every 4 weeks and one winner chosen at random will win their choice of any 4 Sugar Nellie stamps, rising to 6 stamps if we reach 100+ entries.
There is only one tiny rule of entry..you must use a Sugar Nellie image, either rubber or a digi image, to be eligible to win the prize.

We also have a Facebook group...The Official Sugar Nellie Group.
It's a lovely, friendly and informal group that's great fun to be part of. You can post your Sugar Nellie cards here, ask information, share ideas etc and there is also a weekly challenge run by fellow Sweetie Fiona with a new challenge starting each Sunday and of course if there's a challenge then there's also a prize.

And still on the theme of prizes...I have seen lots of gorgeous cards on my travels through blogland made with the latest release of digital images, The Vintage Adorables
If you've made a card with one of these little beauties then there are still a couple of days left to enter the competition - see this post HERE - and be in the running to win an x-cut doily die and stamp set.
Karen is VERY generous when it comes to sharing out her candy ♥

Back to the Sugar Bowl and why I really came on here today...I think I lost my path and wandered all around the park first!
As briefly mentioned last week...each Thursday we will be awarding the 'Eye Candy' badge to one entrant into the challenge. We've polished our spotlight ready to shine it down on one crafter chosen by the sweeties for an exceptionally eye -catching card.

And without (too much more) further waffle..
Thank you for all your fabulous entries into the challenge so far, and an extra thank you to those dedicated Sugar Addicts that have entered multiple gorgeous cards, we are always delighted and touched by your continued support.

Now choosing just one card was a real challenge in itself! But the first Eye Candy badge is awarded to....Lis.

Gosh but this is totally gorgeous and immediately grabbed my attention.
Fabulous colouring of Delia, pretty papers, perfectly embellished...a stunner!

Please take our badge Lis and display it on your blog with pride ♥

Thanks for looking..sorry it turned out to be a tad lengthy!
Hugs Elaine xx

Alice

Hello Everyone! Jane here today with a little dose of sweet inspiration for you. I hope you are all well and are having a good week. I dug out my Ribonita stamps for the card I am sharing with you today. This little beauty is called 'Alice' and is available here from Funky Kits. I do love all the the Ribonitas but Alice is definitely my favourite.

I coloured Alice in with my Promarkers and cut her out leaving a small border. I added her to my card onto a die cut panel which was cut with a stamp edged Dienamics die. The papers I have used are by My Mind's Eye and I love the muted colours. The sentiment is by Paper Smooches.

Here is a close up of little Alice, I love her funky tights! I added some lovely lace from my stash and some flowers to match the papers and finished with some tiny little pearls. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

Annabel

Hello sugar addicts.  Today I am sharing a card using one of the beautiful Vintage Adorables from our latest release ...

I colored her with copics and colored pencils.  I don't use the color green very often but I thought it would look good with her red hair.  I made a mistake while coloring her bangs so they look a little different than the actual digi image ... I think they call that artistic license, don't they lol?  I added a small flourish and diecut flowers, a bow and some pearls.  I adore all the new Vintage Adorables and I'm not sure yet which is my favorite.  Do you have a favorite?

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day!

Hugs, Anita

It's A Challenge!

Good morning Sugar Addicts.

Today we have the first challenge of 2013 over on the Sugar Bowl blog.

Along with a new challenge you will also find there's been a few changes, so please pop on over to the Sugar Bowl and the lovely Sugar Mama Gayle will fill you in on all the details.

Did you all enjoy last weekends hop to celebrate the launch of the Vintage Adorable digi images?
Blimey but there are some fast movers and shakers in the land of Sugar!
No sooner were the images released and I was seeing such beautiful cards made by our talented Sugar Addicts over on our Facebook group!
That's the big advantage of digital images...instant gratification, no stalking the poor postie!

I feel a fanfare of trumpets coming on...ta da da da da daaaaa...

It must've been a very special release as Gayle has actually made a card!!
Sheesh Mrs but I nearly dropped down cork legged when I saw this!!
The only reason I'll forgive you for the shock is cos it's gorgeous, and of course created using the new Vintage Adorable Annabel.

Fiona has used one of my favourite Simply Sassy images..the gorgeous Bella Bunting and in my favourite colours too :)

And lastly..a stunning card from Louise using (yes another of my favourite stamps!) Best Day Ever.
Available to buy as a rubber stamp HERE -  it's all sold out at the moment, but you can also purchase this in digital format HERE :)
Best of both worlds eh?

Thanks for looking.
Love Elaine xx

Times change....

I am putting together a bulk order for the worms, me and Kate are in, anyone else? LOL Karen

After christmas is before christmas

Hello everyone!
This is Kathrin here today and I want to start off with wishing all of you a wonderful, happy and creative new year 2013!

And I have to apologize for having letting you all down the last month.
We were moving and well, you know how it goes. Our old internet was shut down earlier than they told us and the new one didn't work right. And so I had my cards done but wasn't able to share them with you.

So, well, let's start this year with another christmas card!
You can never be too early, right?

I used one of my beloved Simply Sassy images here: Secret Santa. I so love to color these - the hair and the dress are so wonderful and easy to do just because the image itself tells you how to do it.

I went with red and white for my card, using the "traditional" colors of Santa. Just some lace, a stars charm conected with twine, a doily, white Distress Crackle Paint and a die cut snowflake and flourish was all needed to put this card together.

I hope you don't mind me showing a christmas card now - honestly I am so happy to not have to make anymore at the moment. I am really looking forward to making spring cards! LOL But well, it never hurts to show a card, even if it's out of season I guess...

Have a lovely day everyone!
Hugs,

ADORABLE SOPHIA...

Morning all...

Vicky here today...and I'm showcasing one of the new Vintage Adorables images...and this sweetie is called "Sophia"....and isn't she a wee darling...

I finished the plaque with a gorgeous die-cut flower from MFT....a doily from Cheery Lyn...and the pretty corner die is from Marianne D..

For more details please pop over to my blog here

So which one is your favourite Vintage Adorables ?? I still cannot make my mind up..lol

So that's all from me today...thanks for stopping by...

and have a lovely day too...

big hugs Vicky xx

SOS- Love on my mind

a sign that spring can’t be far away.

A happy Sunday to you all. I am away from home day but I have love on my mind.
Maybe not the romantic love that Sarah Jessica Parker is always hunting for.
But the red L O V E that is the base for a lot of crafting.
Be it papercrafting, cards, bunting or canvas art.
Fabric love, hearts and cushion's.
Food love, cupcakes! Need I say more.

There are lots of things that say LOVE, as valentines is not BIG for crafters, but LOVE works all year round.

There is love for our partners, the mushy stuff.
That for our family
and again for our  friends.
Even if the word LOVE is not used, the concept is the same.

So what ideas for LOVE themed classes and displays can I come up with.

As always I look at things that have caught my eye over the many years that I have been doing this.
I look at Pinterest where I see many old ideas re jigged and looking stunning.
I look at what we already have available, who does not have a heart punch ?
Go on put your hands up, shame on you!

Today will see a good few Sugar Addicts fall in love with our new Vintage Adorables that were launched yesterday. These beautiful girls will sit very well within a round nestie and with all the other vintage papers, buttons, lace and doily dies that are out right now, these fit right in with the trends.

I have a set of cut doily die and stamps to give away this week.
Get your new Vintage Adorable cards made so that you can show me what you have created.
We will be loading up linky so that you can show everyone your newest Sugar Nellie cards and one winner will be picked from those that join in the fun.

Now I have to go dig out our linky log in details to be able to work it.

Until then, keep colouring and I will be back mid week.

Karen
